Dr. Kasia Heigelmann's clinic specializes in life syle guidance, general health complaints, women's health (gynecology), digestive disorders (gastrointestinal), and chronic pain (for example, headaches, migraines, sciatica, or pain due to car accidents in the past).

Moxibustion is a method that employs the Artemisia plant, which is shaped into cones, grains, or sticks and placed on a meridian point to warm up the area and promote flow of Qi (vital force). Depending on the techniques used by the practitioner, moxibustion can also be used to cool an area.

Tui Na Massage is a method which, like acupuncture, promotes flow of healthy Qi. However, it does not use needles to achieve this goal.

Qi Gong Exercise is a wonderful way for patients to manage their own health. In our office we teach patients simple medical Qi Gong to enhance their health. This method is particularly effective in stress management and enhancement of mental clarity and focus.

Food Cures is another term for Traditional Chinese Medicine dietary therapy. TCM places great emphasis on the diet. Our food has always been and will be our best medicine. The foods that we consume can greatly influence our organs. As we know alcohol can damage the liver, but what about foods that can aid the body? For example, salty foods like seaweed, celery or parsley nourish the Kidney energy system. Sour foods like apple cider vinegar, raspberry, and green kale can benefit the Liver energy system. We usually recommend to patients the best Food Cures for them.

Recently in our clinic we have also begun to offer Neural™ and Psych-K™.

Neurolink™ is based on research by Dr. Allan Phillips from New Zealand.
It is a structured system utilizing muscle testing (Kinesiology) to discover from the body's responses whether its physical parts or functional physiology are operating up to their full potential. It also uses the connection of neurophysiological pathways from the central nervous system to the muscles to correct possible imbalances. The beauty of the system is the fact that it can efficiently identify a problem and treat it usually without administering any chemical medication. It is safe, accurate and has no side effects.

Psych-K™ is a method originated by Robert M. Williams M.A.
Its basic general philosophy teaches that what we believe in our subconscious will manifest itself in our conscious life. For example, if we expect that our health cannot be optimal by the age of 45 we will develop some manifestation in our physical body to confirm that belief!

Dr. Heigelmann was trained in Psych-K™ by Dr. Bruce Lipton, who discovered that there is a protein messenger link between belief (non-physical thought or energetic existence) and physical matter.

Psych-K™ also employs muscle testing to identify beliefs that exist in our subconscious mind. It helps to rewrite our life, changing negative beliefs into positive, life-enhancing statements and therefore enhancing and enriching our being on many levels.

Again, this method is safe and effective when performed by a trained practitioner.

About Dr. Kasia

Dr. Kasia A. Heigelmann, Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Registered Acupuncturist graduated from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver in 1999.

For her practicum, she studied at the Acupuncture Hospital in Hefei, Anhui province, China. She has been in practice since 1999, and has found that each year of working with her patients has been a beautiful experience of discovering the power of ancient healing. She combines all Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities including Acupuncture, Acupressure, Tui Na Massage, Herbal Formulations, Food Cures, Qi Gong energy healing technique and Tai Chi exercise.

Previous to her studies at ICTCM, she spent four years at the University of Agriculture in Warsaw, Poland where she studied Nutritional Science.

She has over 5 years experience in Nutritional Consulting regarding use of food supplements such as Vitamins, Minerals, and Chinese and Western herbs.

Recently she has pursued a particular interest in studying with two amazing Japanese doctors: Ikeda Masakazu Sensei and Edward Obaidey Sensei. These great teachers are followers of the most profound and deep understanding of classical Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Kasia attends the annual International Chinese Medicine Symposiums to ensure that her practice is up to date with dynamic developments in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Last year she attended one organized by the ChuZhen Institute in Paris, France.

In our clinic we use very fine needles to ensure the highest quality of treatment. There is rarely any discomfort unless the blockages are longstanding and deep due to what TCM practitioners call Blood Stagnation, a hardening of the area and muscle tissue due to trauma or injury.
